The well-known phrase that most people hear is "bend at the knees, not at the back".
However, in many cases bending at the knees may not be the best advice.
Bending the knees to squat all the way down to pick up something has been described as "impractical"...and may potentially be harmul to knees.
SOLUTION:P "Bend at the hips, not at the back" may be more efective advice.
Flexing at the hips while maintaining a neutral curve in your lower spine is the "natural" way we were meant to lift.
